Awards and Certificates

Like all organizations we wish to acknowledge the efforts and achievements of our members and those people in the community, who have gone above and beyond what is asked, who spend an abundance of time and who achieve greater success than expected. Sometimes we will make these presentations in a public forum in order to let an entire community hear about these wonderful people. We also need to acknowledge all major financial supporters, because without their help we couldn’t continue to provide our programs and services.

National Appreciation and Awards Committee:    Members serve a two-year term, are appointed by the President, and confirmed by The Board of Governors.  The committee is charged with recommending, to the Executive Program Manager, those individuals or organizations that represent the best of the best.  Some awards will be referenced in print, broadcast, and social media, while others will be given in a private venue.  The organization will offer monetary rewards as finances permit.  The Managing Director will recommend to the President, to whom the award should be given, with enough advance notice so that she/he can review the request and respond appropriately.  Anyone can nominate a person for an award by sending a letter to the committee with the reason why they deserve the award.  Letters should be sent no later than two months before the end of the school year, which is when most awards are announced.

Letters of Appreciation:  Nothing means more to a member, who has worked in our programs, making a difference in the lives of the participants, then a Letter of Appreciation from those who benefit from their work. Students, parents, and teachers are encouraged to let individual members know how much their work is appreciated with just a handwritten or typed note. It is a wonderful gift that our members will cherish for years to come.

Awards and Certificates:  Awards are given out near the end of the school year.  If the recipient will be continuing in the same or other position during the following year, the award may be given out at the beginning of the following year, at the discretion of the Program Director.  A Certificate of Appreciation is given to any member who has served on a committee and contributed to an event or program during the school years.

National Awards and Certificates

Every member is a hero and deserves to be recognized for their hard work and selfless giving.  We wish we could recognize them all with a special award, but that is not possible.  So, as with most organizations, we ask for nominations of those individuals who were amazing in their efforts and are the most effective in helping us achieve our Vision and Mission.  People whose effort for social good is to be admired and spotlighted for everyone to see.
