Councils for Peace and Prosperity

This page is under development.  We will be updating it with information about the Councils and what you can do to become involved.  Thank you for your patience.

Councils Against Hate was first developed as  by Deborah Levine and Mayor Andrew Berk of Chattanooga, TN in 2015 in response to the shootings at a nearby military base as a way to offer conflict resolution in an organized form.  More than 20 cities and towns became involved in the program, and it was successful for many years. But with the end of Mayor Berk’s term and the advent of Covid-19, the program had to take a backseat, and things were left in limbo. We  are working to re-develop the concept, changing it to Councils for Peace and Prosperity and add it as our third platform.  Our goal is to begin presenting the new Councils platform to our organization in the Fall of 2022.

Councils for Peace and Prosperity

Being updated with a new release in the Spring 2023

The mission is to help understand the unique factors in each community that have led to the spread of violent extremism and intolerance.  Then  establish local councils to find solutions that can be implemented in a practical and logical manor.  Economic equity is an essential part of the mission.  Together with the business community and government agencies we will address the needs of the economically disadvantaged, and create a more civil, safe, and welcoming community for all people.
